![]() Pacific Region Pacific Region covers the province of British Columbia and the Yukon. As of June 1998, the Small Craft Harbours network consisted of 105 commercial fishing harbours and 40 recreational harbours. Of the fishing harbours, 52 were managed by 38 independent Harbour Authorities. The number of recreational harbours has decreased by 38% since 1995; in this region, 25 recreational harbours were transferred between April 1, 1995, and June 30, 1998. Central and Arctic Region covers the Northwest Territories and the provinces of Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Ontario. As of June 1998, the Small Craft Harbours network consisted of 73 commercial fishing harbours and 309 recreational harbours. Of the fishing harbours, seven were managed by six independent Harbour Authorities. The number of recreational harbours has decreased by 30% since 1995; in this region, 134 recreational harbours were transferred between April 1, 1995, and June 30, 1998. As of June 1998, the Small Craft Harbours network consisted of 427 commercial fishing harbours and 71 recreational harbours. The number of recreational harbours has decreased by 13% since 1995; in this region, 11 recreational harbours were transferred between April 1, 1995, and June 30, 1998.
